An old saying goes: A sailor is not defined by how many seas he has sailed but by how many storms he has overcome. This new bust is called: The Old Fisherman: The Great Catch.
Many, they wrote to me, see Hemingway in his wonderful publication: the old man and the sea. Others like me (born and raised in a family of fishermen) see us the hard work, the saltiness, the calloused hands, the return at night, the chirping of the seagulls, the Festa Di Sant'Andrea, the canal harbor, the smell of hawser, naphtha, smelly cigarettes mixed with the smell of fish ... and the memories that only a sculpture of this kind can give you. When a Sculpture arouses memories in you it means that we have hit the mark.
