Joan of Arc (1412-1431) was a French peasant girl who rose to prominence during the Hundred Years' War. She believed she was called by God to lead France to victory against English invaders, and she played a key role in several military victories. Joan was captured by the English, tried for heresy and burned at the stake. She was later declared a martyr and saint by the Catholic Church.
This model takes inspiration from The "Prayer Before the Battle”. It is a bronze sculpture by the French artist Auguste Rodin, depicting Joan of Arc in a moment of contemplation and prayer before going into battle. The sculpture, which is considered one of Rodin's masterpieces, shows Joan with her head bowed and hands clasped, embodying her strong faith and determination.
